A toolkit of useful guidance documents

Whether you are an artist or a host organisation or a funding body or a managing agency, there will be paperwork involved. With the support of Arts Council England, some templates have been developed to help you create the right documents. All the following can be downloaded as Word documents, so you can edit them as you wish. Some of them include sections which will be optional depending on your circumstances.

Agreement of understanding
This template provides the basis for an agreement to be signed by all relevant parties – the artist, the host organisation, the managing agency and the funding body. Many sections may need to be re-written (or even deleted) to reflect the particular circumstances of your own arrangement but this template provides some examples in each of these sections for you to edit / replace / delete as you wish.

It may be that you end up with a greatly simplified agreement, especially if it only needs to involve two parties – for example, the host and the artist.

Budget form
This Excel spreadsheet provides a range of headings that you can fill in. It is set up to automatically calculate sub-totals and totals to help you with these financial estimates.
